About the project

Free-comment is an online catalog of website user reviews. On this online catalog, you can find out what other people think about a given website and what their experience was. You can also leave your own review.

Website owners can benefit from getting featured on Free-comment - this may give a nice boost in recognition and traffic.

Work process

We had to create an online catalog from scratch. It had to be very straightforward and intuitive both for users and website owners. We also spent a lot of time coming up with a simple search filter to make the navigation and search easier for website visitors.

Whenever you deal with a huge amount of similar content, you need to rate it so there you go - we designed and implemented a rating system to get links and popularize the catalog.

Finally, we provided some free space for the future Google AdSense blocks when it comes to monetizing the project.

Functionality features

• User-added websites (with duplicate-control system)
• Automatic snapshot of the main page of the newly added website and parsing the main information about the website (PR, Alexa Rank, domain age) onto the page
• Review module
• Rating module (shows consolidated rating that includes rating from other websites as well)
